Recorded on the vase is a platitude from Hazrat Ali that says, \'Each vessel limits when filled - just the vessel of learning extends.\' On the base is a check dial in Arabic; the lines of the vase frame the state of a hour glass, open at the top to symbolize the continuum of time and information.
