Initial Ideas Fan cutting edges out of Coke jars The axel would turn a progression of riggings, which would turn the generator Vertical standing windmill Three bladed fan PVC pipe generator

Supply List Scrap Wood - Free Balsa Wood - \$4.86 Copper Wiring - \$11.99 Wood Glue - Free Dowel Rods - Free Magnets - \$5.99 Styrofoam Circle - \$1.89 Electric Tape - Free

Slide 5

Design/Construction Constructed generator utilizing molecule load up, copper wire, and magnets Placed a dowel bar through the focal point of the generator, and than put the magnets on top of the pole with spacers Constructed a wooden casing from scrap wood to hold the dowel pole set up Constructed an axel with 5 balsa lush fan edges, connected them to a roundabout Styrofoam centerpiece, and joined to the wooden edge

Calculations Mass of Fan = 35 grams Radius = 8 inches Circumference = 16 π 1 meter = 39.37 inches Ferrite magnet Charge on the magnet: 3.6C Velocity = (16 π )/.2sec = 251.327 in/sec Acceleration = 251.327/1sec = 251.327 in/sec² = 6.382 m/sec² F = (.35kg)(6.382 m/sec²) = 2.2343 N P = (Fd)/t = [(2.2343 N)(16 π/39.37)]/(1sec) = 2.8526 W Produces .5V = J/C U = ½CV² = ½(3.6 C)(.5)² = .45 J real U = 2.8526 = ½(3.6)(V)² V conceivable = 1.259V .5V x 100 = proficiency 1.259 40% = EFFICIENCY

Problems Generator: Initially utilized PVC pipe: too thick. Magnet turning incorrectly heading. Measurement alterations because of grinding inside generator box. Windmill: Fan edges breaking. Styrofoam temperamental. Issues with fan sharp edges staying put. Not delivering enough voltage to light Solutions: Consulted as a group when issues happened to make sense of arrangements Remade generator box Double stuck the fan cutting edges on Continually tried until we accomplished the fancied result
