Elements of a Positive, Productive and Caring Classroom A paradigm shift in how educators think about classroom management has occurred in the last twenty years, and classroom management is no longer about ‘disciplining students’ (Brophy, 1988). It is about “the development of classroom communities in which norms are established and academic routines promote constructive work” (LePage et al., 2005, p. 330).
