2. The setting up of Mulhouse Mulhouse was created in 803. This names comes from the word mill . Mills are still the symbol of the city.
3. Preserved indepandance The alliancies of Mulhouse with the French Kingdom and with the swiss cantons made her a specifical status without conflict.
4. The union of Mulhouse with France January 4th, 1798, the small Republic of Mulhouse votes for its meeting in France and develops in a spectacular way.
5. The french Manchester Mulhouse becomes one of the most prosperous industrial cities of France. This tremendous development comes to a sudden end with the war of 1870 and the annexation.
6. Liberation of Mulhouse On November 20th and 21st, 1944, Mulhouse is freed from the yoke of the German army. The Germans will hold their positions Lutterbach and Bourtzwiller to the beginning of February.
