1. Notan The design concept of light and dark
2. Notan Notan is the term used by the Japanese to express light and dark. No meaning light and tan meaning dark. In eastern cultures they believe the that light cannot exist without dark and dark cannot exist without light.
3. Notan In western cultures, North America and Europe mainly, we use the terms Positive and Negative space. We treat these two as separate pieces of an artwork.
4. Notan The project we are going to work on is called Notan – Expanding the square We are going to make two final compositions, but many practice ones.
