  1. Passion Play at Oberammergau: Photos of the town and the performance. (4 min slide show on the screen in the foyer.) War Memorial Honour Boards: Displayed through the doors on the western wall of the church are boards commemorating the soldiers of the World Wars I and II. The Passion Play or Easter pageant is a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Jesus Christ: his trial, suffering and death. It is a traditional part of Lent in several Christian denominations. (Information sheets on table near TV.) Artists and crafters names appear on all items. Items for sale are priced. Should you wish to purchase, please speak to an attendant. Rainbow and doves The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise to Noah, and to all the people on earth. China Painting: Janet Couper Poetry: Ton van Doorn, Merrilyn Crabbe Simnel cake: A Simnel Cake is an Easter fruit cake, made with lemon, dried fruits and peel, treacle and marzipan. Baked during the Easter period, it has eleven little balls of toasted marzipan on the top that Christians believe allude to the true disciples of Jesus. Judas, having betrayed Jesus, is not included.
