1. DANIEL AND THE LION’S DEN Daniel 6

2. BACKGROUND OF DANIEL 6  King Cyrus of Persia reign at this time (v.28)  Darius is the co-regent of this time

3. BACKGROUND OF DANIEL 6  Daniel is one of the presidents at that time and became distinguished above all other presidents and satrap because an excellent spirit was in him. (v.2a-3)

4. DANIEL’S FAITH WAS TESTED ( VV .4-9)  Because of jealousy, people can harm the innocent (vv.4-6)  You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. (James 4:2-3)

5. DANIEL’S FAITH WAS TESTED ( VV .4-9)  King Darius was fooled by the plot because many agreed and their flattery words (vv.7-9)  Matt. 7:13-14  There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. (Proverbs 14:12)

DANIEL’S FAITH WAS TESTED ( VV .4-9)  King Darius was fooled by the plot because of pride and position (vv.7-9)  “One's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.” (Prob.29:23)  “For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.” (Gal.6:3)

7. DANIEL REMAINS FAITHFUL( VV .10-18)  Even knowing that he may be in danger of death, Daniel still remain faithful (v.1o)  “For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil.” (1 Peter 3:17)

8. DANIEL REMAINS FAITHFUL( VV .10-18)  We also have our own lion’s den somewhere in our lives as a Christians  “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” (2 Timothy 3:12)  “Do not be surprised, brothers, that the world hates you.” (1 John 3:13)

DANIEL REMAINS FAITHFUL( VV .10-18)  We also have our own blessings in our lion’s den as a Christians  “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.(Matthew 5:10)  “But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled.” (1 Peter 3:14)

10. THE RESULT OF GOD’S WORK ( VV .19-28)  The king went to the Lion’s Den because he was concern about Daniel. (vv. 19-20)  Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. (1 Peter 1:19)

11. THE RESULT OF GOD’S WORK ( VV .19-28)  God’s power over the animals. (v.22)  God shut the mouth of the Lion’s mouth in order to save Daniel. (v.22)  Behold, I [am] the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:27)  For with God nothing shall be impossible (Lk.1:37)

12. THE RESULT OF GOD’S WORK ( VV .19-28)  In the end, the king acknowledged the God of Daniel!! (vv.25-27)  King Darius spread the power of God to all the peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth. (v.25)  King Darius declared that the God of Daniel is the living God and eternal God. (v.26)  King Darius declared that the God of Daniel is able to rescue everyone. (v.27)

13. THE RESULT OF GOD’S WORK ( VV .19-28)  Whatever we do, we must glorify God!!  “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)  “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

14. CONCLUSION  As Daniel’s faith was tested, we can also be tested  But even we are being tested; we must always remain faithful to God  And the result must always be the acknowledging of the glory and honour and power of God! Amen!

15. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. Hebrews 12:3
