Today’s Plan… Learn, enjoy & succeed in sport!’ • 9am Brief intro with Kelly • 9:30am Session 1 • 11am Break • 11:45am Session 2 • 12:30pm Lunch • 1:45pm Martin Laws, Jumpers Rebound Centre • 2-3:15pm Session 3 James and Tony, Community Sports Coaches for Trampoline & Gymnastics • 3:15-3:30pm Finish

GSSP Priorities for 07/08 – what did we achieve? • The 2 hours of PE and Sport per week target – 71% in 2007, 81% in 2008, 2009 ?? • Targeted support for those schools who currently have far fewer pupils engaging in 2 hours per week of PE/Sport Thanks to your hard work and our SSCo’s we currently only have 5 schools who don’t offer 2 hrs of PE in curriculum time compared with 17 schools last year • Gaining an understanding of those pupils not participating in PE – devising interventions and projects to support them to We have been working hard with the pupils in our secondary schools, particularly girls in KS3 and 4 – today is a focus for our younger students in KS1 and 2

GSSP Priorities for 07/08 – what did we achieve? • Forming partnerships and agreements where we can to get more links with community and sports organisations in the local area Working with local sports groups to ensure sustainable links for young people. Making further connections with other organisations working in schools to support you • Raising the profile of the great work you are doing both in the local press, Youth Sport Trust and key people in Medway Council Medway Sports Awards, Greenacre SSP Website and newsletter – still working on the local Councilors

Our 5 hour offer ambition YOUR CHALLENGE… 2 hours of high quality PE within curriculum time 1 hour of high quality Out of School Hours Learning for EVERY pupil to access in sport What are your barriers to delivering this? How are we ensuring HIGH QUALITY?

The increased investment in Sport and PE is down to each of you working in your own schools now. • Make the best use of your SSCo – they are there to support and guide you. • Today is about new ideas and opportunities that hopefully you will be able to take back to your school • You cannot do this on your own and please don’t try to!
