Experiences from the other side of a project, as project admin +++ much unexpected help • compiling on Win/Linux/Solaris/Mac/PS3, • translations, screensaver, graphics • help from other projects, mailing list, #boinc --- some user are very aggressive and blaming • specially about credits
Learnings • credits are holy, NEVER remove them, be carefully, don't abort running wus • be open, specially on problems of any kind (technical, monetary, time, ...) • fast answer forum questions • provide frequent news • don't talk about not available things, specially about time schedules
About the Future RNA World: • open a job submission interface for scientists • scientific publications • wrap more bioscience applications Rechenkraft.net e.V. • get more member, active participants, donations, monetary foundings yoyo@home • include more projects
Boinc wish list • check pointing outside the application • E.g. using VM or saving the whole memory of the application • runtime selection in Boinc • Don‘t get tasks longer than X • RSS Feed in Client • Switch off GPU fetch for CPU only projects • Option to abort redundant results even if they are started.
