Slide2Poetry4 Poetry is literature that uses a few words to tell about ideas, feelings and paints a picture in the readers mind. 4 Most poems were written to be read aloud. 4 Poems may or may not rhyme.

Slide3POETRY FORM4 FORM - the appearance of the words on the page 4 LINE -  a group of words together on one line of the poem 4 STANZA - a group of lines arranged together   A word is dead   When it is said,   Some say.   I say it just   Begins to live   That day.

Slide4RHYTHM4 The beat created by the sounds of the words in a poem 4 Rhythm can be created by meter, rhyme, alliteration and refrain.
