Slide3Africa’s 4 Regions Sahara - the farthest north. The world’s largest desert.  Sahel-  divides the desert from wetter areas.  It has enough vegetation to support hardy grazing animals.  Savannah - or open grass with scattered trees. Grazing animals are common there.  Rain forest-  densely wooded forest.  This area receives a lot of rain and many plants and animals are here.

Slide4West Africa’s Resources Crops  Gold  Salt-very valuable because everyone needed salt to live and to preserve food.  Salt and gold were traded equally for each other.
