2. AP MC • No different from any standardized test in that they all have the following two concerns: 1. You must manage a limited amount of time well 2. You must guess wisely and aggressively
3. Some Tips • Have a plan – Note the time and number of passages – Pck a passage to do first – Pick a passage to do last (or skip) • Work the Passage • Answer the questions in the order you choose
4. Time Management • Do it your way • Which passages are the hardest? • Consider skipping a passage • Half bad = all bad in an answer • Eliminate the obvious and come back • Be fearless!
5. POE • When in doubt, look for wrong answers and eliminate • Eliminate the obviously wrong, then look more closely at what’s left • Half bad = All bad • Don’t leave any question blank – EVER!
6. The 7-Minute Passage • Check your watch: last passage with 7 minutes or less? – Don’t read the passage, go directly to the questions – Answer the questions that do not require reading – Answer the questions that take little reading – Answer what’s left over until you run out of time
