2. School Council Orientation Sept. 13, 2011 2 Superintendent Diduch: We begin by marking ourselves with the sign of our faith. All: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Superintendent Diduch: As we set out upon another academic year, let us listen to these words from the Gospel of St. John: Jesus said to his disciples: This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go out and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another. (John 15:12-13, 1617) Please join in our opening prayer

3. School Council Orientation Sept. 13, 2011 3 All: Lord God, your love for us is extravagant. Continue to open our minds to the wisdom of your unfailing love and mercy as we join staff and students in exploring the districts new faith theme. Fill our hearts with the spirit of your charity that we may please you by our thoughts and bear lasting fruit in your kingdom. Be with us during this time of orientation and bless us with your grace. Help us to learn and fulfill our duties with enthusiasm and generosity. Guide our efforts to build and strengthen relationships within our school communities, that we may faithfully live the commandment of love and be true reflections of Christ through our hospitality, openness and leadership. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
